Happy Creek Minerals Ltd.'s 100% owned Cariboo properties total approximately 392 square kilometres in area and are located approximately 60 to 80 kilometres northeast of 100 Mile House, in the south central Cariboo region, British Columbia, Canada. The properties all have excellent infrastructure in place, and either surround, or are situated in the general vicinity of the former Boss Mountain molybdenum mine. The properties are called the Silverboss, Fox, Hen, Art-DL and Hawk.
The area surrounding the former Boss Mountain mine has been explored since the Cariboo Gold rush, however, widespread and thick glacial till, dense forest cover and difficult terrain have limited access. The Boss Mountain mine was put into production in 1965 by Noranda Inc. Exploration of the area was always somewhat superficial in nature, and although the mine was operating, access to the region was limited. During the 1990's, logging road construction opened up many new areas, and locally exposed bedrock. It was also during the 1990's that British Columbia experienced a major decline in overall exploration efforts by mining companies. During this period, prospectors located several new mineral showings. In 2004 and 2005, Noranda dropped a number of its claims around the former Boss Mountain mine and that ground, as well as additional mineral claims were staked and are now owned 100% by Happy Creek Minerals. Between 2005 and 2010, Happy Creek has performed prospecting, systematic stream sediment, soil and rock sampling, geophysical surveys, trenching and diamond drilling.
Silverboss
The Company's Silverboss property surrounds the former Boss Mountain molybdenum mine, and is locally within 350 metres of an open pit. The Company has outlined a large, positive molybdenum, tungsten and copper anomaly in soil and outcropping rock samples that is approximately three kilometers in length and is thought to be an extension of the adjacent, previously mined deposits. Significant, positive values of gold also occur in this area. In addition, the Company's systematic exploration has identified a new and large scale copper soil geochemical anomaly further north. These are thought to be examples of new bulk tonnage targets that exist in proximity to the former moly producer.
Fox
Approximately 25 kilometres east of the Boss Mountain molybdenum mine, the Fox property is a large scale tungsten molybdenum system that has returned potentially economic grade tungsten in drilling and outcrop trench samples, with underlying similarities to the Boss Mountain mine. The size of the mineralized area and positive grades obtained are very encouraging for a significant new tungsten skarn discovery.
Hen
Happy Creek's Hen property has returned a large area containing positive copper, lead, zinc and gold in soil and rock that is a bulk tonnage copper +/- molybdenum target at Anomaly Creek. In addition, several significant gold showings on the property include the Hen, Ledge and Dyke zones that span a distance of around four kilometres.
Art-DL
Adjoining the Hen property to the east is the Company's Art-DL property. The geology is very similar to the Spanish Mountain (1.75 million oz gold) and Thunder Ridge gold prospects, located approximately 100 kilometres to the north and 1.5 kilometres to the south, respectively. Exploration has identified positive gold and silver values in soil and rock samples and drilling in 2010 intersected a long interval of positive silver values.
Hawk
Within the central axis of the Quesnel Trough, the Hawk property contains geology consistent with other alkalic copper-gold deposits that are represented by five mines in B.C., Mount Polley, being the closest. Results from numerous showings contain positive to high copper, gold and silver values in a three kilometre by 1.5 kilometre area.
Happy Creek is pleased to have identified, acquired and then advanced these early stage properties to where they can be seen to host significant economic potential. We hope you can take the time to review the individual descriptions of these quality mineral prospects that are in line with the Company's strategy, mission and goals: to create significant wealth for shareholders.
